Summary & Highlights

Coues deer are not only plentiful in the Sonora desert, but they also grow some of the biggest racks ever recorded, with long tines and heavy mass. Abnormal points are not uncommon. We average bucks over 100" B&C, with some giants over 120-class hunted each season.

Hunting the “ghost of the desert” is a true challenge—they can vanish into the hillsides. During the rut (late Jan through mid-Feb, with peak action in early Feb) bucks get visible while chasing does, especially around water sources and open slopes. We employ a mix of glassing, waiting over water and oranges, and targeted stalks.
